Groundbreaking for National Museum of the Pacific War

A groundbreaking ceremony for the National Museum of the Pacific War’s new 24,500-foot museum expansion is scheduled for next Friday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. on the west side of the George Bush Gallery. Activities include music, presentation of colors, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, welcome by General Hagee, acknowledgements and speakers. Honored speakers include Governor Perry, John Nau and Mayor pro-tem Tim Dooley. A BBQ meal will be provided free of charge to the public immediately following the ceremony. If you don't attend, be aware that the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. will be blocked off from 10:00 a.m. – noon during the ceremony, so please use an alternate route during this time.
