Harvest time at Becker Vineyards

As of Tuesday, July 22, Becker Vineyards officially began harvesting grapes at 4 a.m. for the 2008 harvest. The first grape to be ripe is our sauvignon blanc. (Part of the grapes are fermented in stainless steel, part of it is fermented in French oak, and blended before bottling and called the Fume Blanc.) Pinot grigio, barbera, and gewurztraminer have also been harvested. Becker Vineyards will wrap up the harvest approximately the beginning of September.
