Christmas Home Tour Tickets On Sale

A guest enjoys the Christmas decor at one of the homes featured on last year’s Holiday Home Tour. This year's Preservation Weekend is set for on Dec 11 and 12, and showcases nine unique properties, the Tannenbaum Ball, and the new Candlelight Tour.

The public can now purchase tickets for the Gillespie County Historical Society's 2009 Preservation Weekend activities, set for Dec 11 and 12 in Fredericksburg, Texas.

The Society has three special activities planned for the fundraising weekend, including the return of the popular Candlelight Tour on Saturday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Visitors can view three historic houses decked in period decor and lit with candlelight. The tour includes the buildings and grounds of the Pioneer Museum, where carolers will sing while volunteers serve wine and traditional German cookies.

The Holiday Home Tour is earlier on the same day, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. This year nine “never before seen” properties are on the tour, featuring historic homes, restored buildings, and unique architectural structures.

On Friday, Dec 11, the Society celebrates “Partridge in a Pear Tree” for the exclusive Tannenbaum Ball at Pioneer Pavilion starting at 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy an elegant meal catered by Dawn Gentle, the Bill Smallwood Band, and silent and live auctions.

Tickets for the tour are $25 per person, or $43 for the Tour by Trolley. Trolley seating is limited to 27 and requires reservations by December 4, 2009. The Candlelight Tour is $15 per person.

Reservations for the Tannenbaum Ball are $100 per person, and must be made by Dec 4.
