Roots Music Series: Texas Country - 8/21

Texas Country makes a visit to the next Roots Music Concert at Fredericksburg’s Pioneer Museum on Saturday, Aug 21 as Brian Milson, Eleven Hundred Springs, and Doug Moreland take the outdoor stage.

Brian Milson & the Short Road Band start the evening at 6 p.m. with traditional country mixed with a taste of Texas, playing everything from Bob Wills to rock and roll classics.

At 7 pm, Eleven Hundred Springs will fill the dance floor with more real country music, including a bit of Hank Thompson honky tonk, Waylon Jennings country/rock, and Bob Wills Western Swing.

Fiddler and funnyman Doug Moreland finishes the evening playing all the western favorites with his classic western swing band of upright bass fiddle, drums, and steel guitar.

Once again guests will enjoy the Longhorn Street Cafe’s meal that includes choice of 12 oz. rib-eye charbroiled to order on site, or Grilled Chicken Breast. Sides of dinner roll, butter, mashed potatoes, green beans, plus dessert - all for $9. Tea, sodas, beer, wine and water for sale on the grounds.

The Pioneer Museum is located at 325 West Main Street in Fredericksburg. All concerts take place on Saturdays, 6 - 10 p.m. Gates open and food is served beginning at 5 p.m. Guests enter on Milam Street. There is free parking.

Gate admission is $12, but only $10 for those who buy advance online tickets or bring the web page printout to the gate. Students high school age and younger are free.

The 2010 Roots seasons finishes on Sept 25 with Latin/Conjunto Night. Net proceeds support the mission of the Gillespie County Historical Society.
