Fredericksburg Music Club Presents ROCO Brass Quintet - 4/19

The Fredericksburg Music Club originated in 1937 as a small study club in a private home and has now emerged into a music organization of international reputation.

An orchestra of all-star musicians, distinguished conductors and famous composers who come together from all over the world to present unexpected classics, original compositions and delightful performances.  Includes trumpet, horn, trombone and bass trombone.

3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at 1800 N. Llano in Fredericksburg. Donations are welcome. For details, call 830-997-5413.

Fredericksburg Chorale "Dialogues and Dances" - 4/11

The Fredericksburg Chorale will host a concert of original and classic chorale and instrumental music, as well as poetry and art by local residents. Outdoors in the courtyard at the Hill Country University Center weather permitting or inside in case of inclement weather.

Lawn chairs and blankets are suggested.

Bottled water will be provided. Donations are graciously welcome.

Van Der Stucken Music Fesitval - 3/21

Music fans are invited to help celebrate the life and music of Fredericksburg native son Frank Van der Stucken at the Van der Stucken Festival this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 West San Antonio Street, Fredericksburg TX. The event is free and open to the public.

The Van der Stucken Festival was established in 1991 by Friends of Van der Stucken to increase appreciation for the life and work of Fredericksburg native composer Frank Van der Stucken. This will be the first year that the nonprofit Fredericksburg Community Orchestras (FCO) presents the festival. This year’s program will introduce the first Van der Stucken Composition Contest. The winner of this nationwide competition will be announced at the festival and the winning composition will be premiered by an ensemble of FCO.

The Van der Stucken Festival is supported with contributions from the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, Monterrey Iron and Metal Works, and Jack Vexler, whose wife, Bette, is a direct descendant of Frank Van der Stucken.

Luckenbach's Texas Independance Day Celebration 3/7

Luckenbach, Texas celebrates Texas Independence. Official Texas Flag retirement ceremony with Texas Rangers. Starting at noon, Brian Burns and Doug Moreland entertain and present history through music.  The Texas Star Trail Ride comes through town around 3 to 4 pm – it’s a sight to behold.  Then to end the day, Dusty Britches and The Rhythm Ranch Hands will be in the dancehall at 8 pm and there is no cover charge. Annual Luckenbach Hug-In And Valentine Ball

Asleep at the Wheel holds court on Saturday night for the Valentine’s Ball and Dale Watson joins the fun on Friday night with the “Give Me More Kisses” dance.  Tickets are available for the entire event which includes a camping pass and tickets to both shows or purchase a ticket for just the shows, no camping.  Tickets for the entire weekend are $45.  Dale Watson’s show ticket is $15.  Asleep at the Wheel’s show ticket is $20.  Happy Valentine’s Weekend Y’all!  Come get your HEART on with us!  Details and tickets available online.

Zion Music Festival - 6/28

Zion Music Festival is an event meant to connect with families & friends, worship God, and see hearts changed. Our mission is the fight against drug and alcohol abuse and our target group is our Youth…the next generation and to reach them through the ministry of music. We recognize the powerful message and influence music can have on a person’s life.

Music can inspire and uplift a person through song and encouraging lyrics. We believe we need to meet a person “where they’re at” and create an environment for the whole family to enjoy.

Fredericksburg Community Orchestra Fundraiser playing in Luckenbach Texas - 6/12

The Fredericksburg Community Orchestras announce their 3rd Annual “Bach at the “Bach” fundraising event to be held on the outdoor stage in Luckenbach, Texas, 412 Luckenbach Town Loop. FCO string ensemble and childrens ensembles will perform favorite selections from the season. The public is invited to attend and enjoy string music and a meal. Boxed dinners of pulled pork or BBQ sandwich, tea, cookie and chips will be served by the Feed Lot at Luckenbach. T-shirts will also be available. Tickets are $25 for the music and meal or $15 for the music only. Purchase tickets online.

Proceeds go to the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed to promote string music education for all ages in Fredericksburg and surrounding communities.

Fredericksburg Community Orchestra Spring 2014 Concert II - May 17

The public is invited to attend the Spring Concert of the Fredericksburg Community Orchestra on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 107 E. Lower Crabapple Rd, Fredericksburg.

The program is free and will include individual and group performances by musicians and students under the direction of Theresa Britt.

The Advanced Youth Ensemble will open the program followed by the FCO String Orchestra. FCO Suzuki Violin, Cello, and Viola students will then present their recital pieces.

The public is invited to stay and enjoy refreshments after the concert.

The Fredericksburg Community Orchestra is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of string education in the Hill Country. The orchestra consists of community members of all ages.
