Frontier Day at Fort Martin Scott - 11/30

The City of Fredericksburg’s Fort Martin Scott has announced that the fort will hold its first annual celebration to commemorate the opening of Fort Martin Scott in 1848. The event will include continuous re-enactments, cannon firings, live action shootouts, horses and wagons, pioneer crafts, chuck wagon food, Native Americans, musicians, storytellers and western authors. ”Watch the Fort Come Alive!”. Annual Lighting of Community Christmas Tree and German Pyramid - 11/29

The Christmas season officially begins in Fredericksburg with the annual lighting of the 26’ German Christmas Pyramid and 30’ Community Christmas Tree at 7 pm on Marktplatz (West Main & North Adams) along with a German brass band, community choir and refreshments.

Music at St. Joseph's - 11/27

Mark Hierholzer presents his new series of concerts, Music at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 West San Antonio Street. These concerts are held regularly on the fourth Wednesday of the month at historic St. Joseph’s Hall. The music will be the original compositions and improvisations of Hierholzer. The concert will also feature the works of other composers whose work is exemplified by clarity, hope, beauty and honesty. This concert will feature dance movements of Johann Sebastian Bach from his French and English Suites.

7 pm. Admission is by donation.

Holiday Cookie Decorating & German Traditions - 11/30

Get into the holiday spirit and bring the entire family to have fun decorating cookies as it was done for a German Christmas tree in the 1900′s. Enjoy participating in the German holiday traditions of wreath making and candle making while awaiting the arrival of St. Nicholas. At the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site in Stonewall.

Fredericksburg Turkey Trot - 11/30

5K/10K Race begins at 8:30 AM on Saturday, November 30 and the 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 10:00AM. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome! The Fredericksburg Turkey Trot benefits the FPS/FES/FMS PTO which raises money for Fredericksburg Primary, Elementary and Middle School field trips and enrichment programs, playground equipment and new perimeter fences just to name a few! So, come out and work off that turkey dinner! We look forward to seeing you there! “Git yer gobble on!”

Texas All-Star Big Band Bash Benefit - 11/7-9

The Big Band Bash is a musical fundraiser for the youth of Gillespie County.

Over $60k in the form of college scholarships, workshops and band instruments for Fredericksburg performing arts students has been raised from past events. The event has been extended to three nights and dinner show tickets are $85 per person per night and include a surprise guest artist each night. All events take place at the Hill Top Cafe, 10661 N.
