Fredericksburg Opera Fest - 7/22-23

Here’s a great opportunity to hear operatic music right in Fredericksburg! The San Antonio Opera, in conjunction with the Hill Country Opera League, will host the new Fredericksburg Opera Fest on July 23-24, with performances by an all-Texan crew, including Grammy Award-winning soprano and Fredericksburg native, Ava Pine. This event will be held at the Fredericksburg Theater Company’s Steve W. Shepherd Theater, with additional events planned involving the Stagecoach Theater, Tootie Pie Company, Insight Gallery and August E’s Restaurant.

4th Annual Thomas Micheal Riley Music Festival

Texas Music’s 2010 & 2011 “Entertainer of the Year “ nominee Thomas Michael Riley returns to Luckenbach, Texas for his 4th annual Music Festival.

The fun begins on Firday with Cow Pasture Pool Celebrity Golf Tournament has a 9 am shot-gun start at Lady Bird Municipal Golf Course. Fest fun starts at 7pm with Jake Martin, Thomas Michael Riley, and Randy Brown. Friday night Music is FREE with a suggested donation to benefit our Wounded Warriors.

Saturdays bands include Gary P. Nunn, Max Stalling, Tejas Brothers, Blacktop Gypsy, Chris Wall, and The Wolf Sisters as they take stage with Thomas Michael Riley.

Organizers of the Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair have announced the cancellation of this year’s event, which was scheduled in September. Look for news of reorganization and the fair’s return in 2012.

Fredericksburg Theater Company presents "Oliver!" 6/24 - 7/10

Nothing works on stage like a well-crafted tale. What could be more entertaining than this much-loved classic by Charles Dickens and his story of an orphan boy tossed and turned by fate and fortune? With music and lyrics by Tony Award winning artist Lionel Bart, the audience is hooked from the first opening notes of “Food, Glorious Food” to music theater standards such as “As Long As He Needs Me” and “Consider Yourself.” These are just a few of the many favorites you will hear as Oliver takes us on a musical journey of a lifetime.

Did you know that the Fredericksburg Food Pantry provides groceries for a minimum of 50 families each week? Did you know that summer is one of the slowest times of year for food donations? FTC needs YOU to help them help OUR community by bringing non-perishable food items to the Theater with you or to the box office located at 306 East Austin. Here are some suggestions of much needed items (they are in need of good nourishing food. Enchanted Dream Farms Now Open

Texas-made crafts, candles, soaps and sundries can be found at the new Enchanted Dream Farms at 416 E. Main St., in Fredericksburg. Owned by Karen Moore and Shari Rannells, this business is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Stop in to watch the production of candles and more right there on site. Air Force Jazz Ensemble Concert - 7/8

The public is invited to bring blankets and chairs to listen to a free concert by the talented Air Force Jazz Ensemble performing patriotic and jazz favorites. This concert will be held in the Memorial Courtyard on the grounds of the National Museum of the Pacific War, 340 E. Main St., at 7:00 p.m. this Friday, July 8 in Fredericksburg.
