Christmas Tree Forest Preview Celebration - 12/1

Kicking off this year's Christmas in Fredericksburg is the free Christmas Tree Forest Preview Celebration is this Thursday, December 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Adelsverein Halle at Marktplatz. Holiday refreshments and entertainment will be available. Vote on your favorite Christmas tree or bid on a tree --- all trees will be up for auction this year. A great way to decorate the office without all the work and benefit local charities as well! The evening is sponsored by H-E-B Food Stores and American Bank of Texas, NA.

Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighted Trail - 11/29-1/2

The holiday season is a fabulous time to visit Fredericksburg, located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, with events and decorations flavored by our German and frontier heritage. Once again, historic Main Street will be ablaze with thousands of white lights each evening and Marktplatz is transformed into a lighted winter wonderland.


Other communities participating in the 2005 Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighted Trail are: Boerne, Burnet, Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, Goldthwaite, Johnson City, Llano, Marble Falls, New Braunfels, Round Mountain, and Wimberley.

Eisbahn - November 29 to January 2

Fredericksburg, Texas seldom gets cold enough for long enough to allow us to ice skate. This year, however, the weather isn't a factor!


The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is pleased to present, in conjunction with the City of Fredericksburg, Eisbahn, a unique holiday ice skating rink experience in Fredericksburg. Local residents and visitors will be able to ice skate in an open air rink, located at the Kinderhalle pavilion at Marktplatz. Eisbahn to be open daily: Nov. 25th - Jan. 2nd.


Admission is charged for the Eisbahn, and includes ice skates.

The Hill Top Café in Fredericksburg, Texas, is kicking off the Art Past Dark Weekend early! The 2005 Big Band Bash Preview Party is a preview party for Johnny Nicholas' Texas All Star Big Band Bash on Saturday, Nov. 12th. The Separated - a Motion Picture - 11/5-6

It is a story about two brothers in the mid-1800s who are separated by an Indian raid, one being raised by Commanches, and the other by Texas Rangers. Their later reunion requires each to reevaluate their cultural upbringing.

Historical Fredericksburg Course - Nov 3

Offered through the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education, this course is an overview of the colorful history of Fredericksburg and Gillespie county, covering the founding of the city and its early customs, and includes a tour of Der Stadt Friedhof cemetery. Whether you're new to the community, or have lived here all your life, this is a great opportunity to ask questions about specific areas of interest to you.


The fee for the course, which will be held on 3 consecutive Thursday nights from 6 - 9PM (Nov. 3rd, 10th, & 17th), costs $20. You must pre-register; go to the Community Education office at 234 Friendship Lane or call the above listed phone number.
