Point Theatre Production of "Circling the Drain"

The Hill Country Arts Foundation and the Point Theatre present "Circling the Drain". Written by local playwrights John Ruth and Kay Bocock, the play traces the lives of three West Texas sisters through 50 years of trials and tribulations. Fredericksburg Cooking Academy presents Chocolat by Lecia Duke, owner of Chocolat in Fredericksburg, Texas, as she teaches you how to savor the differences in a chocolate tasting; temper chocolate; make a ganache, sophisticated truffles, chocolate bark and chocolate dipped fruit. Texas Woodcarvers Guild

The Texas Woodcarvers Guild Fall Roundup and Show is this week at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. There are five days of instruction and then the show and sale are on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Spectators are invited out throughout the week; small fee for classes.

Roots Music in the Texas Hill Country - 9/22

Presented by the Gillespie County Historical Society, Roots Music in the Texas Hill Country is a concert series now in its 5th season that presents concerts focusing on America's main genres of music. Net proceeds support the mission of the Gillespie County Historical Society.

September 22nd is Mexican Conjunto & Ranchero Night and features Los Pinky's and Los Texmaniacs.

Hill Country Children's Theater Production "Wonderland, Alice Returns"

Hill Country Children's Theater announced that tickets are available for their upcoming show, "Wonderland, Alice Returns" at Dietert Auditorium on Schreiner University Campus. A Mosaic Class by Suzan Germond - Artisans at Rocky Creek

Grand Opening John Bennett's Rodeo Studio and Gallery

This event is the official ribbon cutting and open house for John Bennett's Rodeo Studio and Gallery at 208 E. San Antonio Street. The public is invited to attend and see John's sculptures from 6 to 9 pm on Saturday September 15.



John recently was commissioned by the Leesburg Library in Florida to conceptualize and complete a life size bronze sculpture of Alice Reeves, the granddaughter of a slave. Mrs. Reeves sits with her three year old great-granddaughter on a park bench reading. The sculpture will sit in front of the new $8.2 million Leesburg Library to represent the contributions of the African American community in Leesburg. This will be the second commission for John Bennett by the library; the first, a life size bronze sculpture of Annie Oakley and her dog Dave was installed in it's own courtyard on the library grounds in June.

Youth Rodeo - Sept 14

The Hill Country Horse Club promotes all equine sports for adult and youth riders in the Texas Hill Country. Members enjoy youth rodeo, team roping, barrel racing and trail riding events. The arena is located on Equestrian Drive, off of Highway 87 South. All events are open to the public.
