Chishilm Trail New Wine Releases for the Holidays

The Holidays are in full swing, and the winery elves have been busy here at Chisholm Trail Winery. They are excited to announce the release of 4 new wines just in time for your Holiday gift giving and holiday entertaining needs!
They are proud to announce the newest additions to our line of fine wines:
2011 Belle Starr-Blanc Du Bois- The 2011 vintage of this dry white wine has the aroma of tangerine. It is very well balanced, with hints of pineapple and apple and a light cherry finish. One of their best Blanc Du Bois yet!
2007 Outlaw- Barbara- This remarkably smooth dry red wine has the aroma of light nutmeg and tastes of wild blackberry, black plum, and rhubarb pie with a finish of white pepper. We’ve been waiting for years for this one to finally be ready and it doesn’t disappoint!
2007 Madame Merlot- Merlot- A noteworthy dry red wine, the 2007 Merlot has a light licorice aroma with a hint of oak. Tastes of black current and pomegranate and a light French oak finish. Classic and elegant are the words that come to mind when describing this wine!
Smart Ass Blush- The latest in their line of sweet wines, the Smart Ass has an aroma of strawberry with a hint of rose. Tastes of cranberry with undertones of cherry and a finish of apple tart. This fun, sweet wine is perfect for your holiday parties!
If you aren’t able to make it out to the winery to try the new wines in person, they do offer a shipping service to customers living here in Texas. You can call (830)990-2675 for more information.
The folks at Chisholm Trail Winery want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we look forward to sharing our new wines with you! Please visit their website at www.chisholmtrailwinery.com for tasting room hours, location, and for information about our full line of fine wines.

FTC Presents "Inspecting Carol" Dec 9-18

What better way to spend the holidays than with a play that will have you rolling in the aisles.

It’s Christmas time and a small theater is preparing to bring “A Christmas Carol” to its holiday stage.

At auditions, in walks an unknown actor who is mistaken for an informer for the National Endowment of the Arts. The troupe is put into high, farcical gear as they bend over backwards to accommodate the bewildered wannabe actor who is given a role in the holiday production.

Everything that can go wrong goes wrong, hilarity is piled upon hilarity, and the Christmas holiday will never be seen the same way again by this struggling troupe – nor by our audience! Perfect anytime, this is a special family treat at Christmas.

Historic Schools Open House: Crabapple School - 12/10

A brief history of Crabapple School (located at 14671 Lower Crabapple Road): Built in 1882. Teacherage in 1878. Consolidated in 1957. Typically, the land for the schools was donated or bought for $1. At Crabapple, Crockett Riley and Mathias Schmidt decided to have a foot race to see who would have the privilege of donating the land. Mathias Schmidt won, and the school was built on his donated land.

Current activities: Soon after consolidation, Crabapple Community Club was organized. It remains active today, with the Club meeting monthly on the first Friday evening to play "42" dominoes. The facility is also used for other functions, such as wedding receptions, reunions, elections, birthday parties, and church functions.
