Grape Stomp at Becker Vineyards - 8/31-9/1

"Stomp Me! Crush Me! Make Me Wine!" will be the battle cry for the 13th Annual Becker Vineyards Grape Stomp. Souvenir T-shirts will be for sale (price: tba). Some people like to purchase shirts and put their grape "stomped" foot prints on the back as a souvenir. Children are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by an adult. The event is complimentary.

Hill Country Antique Tractor & Engine Club Show - June 8-9

Step back in time and see how your grandfather or great-grandfather worked his farm. Held at the Gillespie Country Fairgrounds just outside Fredericksburg, Texas, activities at the show will include antique tractor parades and tractor-pulls, kiddy tractor-pulls, antique engine displays and demonstrations, farm machinery demonstrations, a blacksmith shop, and food and drink concessions. Admission is $6 adults; 12 and under free; 2-day pass $10.

Roots Music "Bourbon Street Night" 8/17

Pioneer Museum, 325 West Main, presents Roots Music “Bourbon Street Night” featuring Zydeco Blanco, Charles Thibodeaux and the Austin Cajun Aces and Hamilton Loomis.

Gates open at 5 PM. Concert 6:30 to 10:30 PM. $12 per person. Kids under 18 are free.

100 Year Anniversary of the Old Railroad Tunnel - 8/17

Join the Texas Parks and Wildife Department for an afternoon of activities to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the first train going through Old Tunnel, 10619 old San Antonio Road.  Activities will include kid crafts, a storybook trail for kids, historical railroad information booth and face painting.  They will also have interpreters from Lyndon B. Johnson, Enchanted Rock, Blanco and Guadalupe River State Parks on hand to give demonstrations and information about their parks.  The event will culminate with a talk at 5 pm that will cover the railroad/tunnel history.  This talk will be given by a member of the Boerne Historical Society.  After the event, you can stay for the evening bat emergence. “Dance Fest For West” to Raise Funds For West, Texas at Pat's Hall - August 10

A fundraiser to help the community of West, Texas will be held at historic Pat’s Hall, 406 Post Oak Road, from 1 pm to midnight on Saturday, August 10.  All day admission is $25.  Bands scheduled so far include the Czechaholics, the Seven Dutchmen, the Bill Smallwood Band and headliner Weldon Henson.  Bands will be playing in the hall during the day, and from 8:30 pm to midnight one band will be playing in the hall and one on the patio.  Refreshments and food vendors will be available.  All proceeds benefit the citizens of West, Texas.
