29th Annual Antique Tractor & Engine Club Show - 6/13-14

This 29th annual show will appeal to anyone who is interested in antique farm machinery. Preserving our heritage of power! To be held at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds (530 Fair Drive), activities will include exhibits of antique tractors and antique engines, an antique tractor parade, tractor-pulls, kiddy tractor-pulls, fence making, farm machinery demonstrations, featured operations of large engines, a blacksmith shop, vendors of agriculture-related items, and food and drink concessions. Crawfish Festival - 5/23-25

“Laissez les bon temps rouler!”

The annual Jaycees’ Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival returns to Marktplatz over Memorial Day Weekend.  The Festival will feature activities for the whole family including lots of great Cajun food, live music, crawfish races and a Creole brunch with a special appearance by Chef John Russ of the renowned restaurant, Luke San Antonio.  Please visit the website for the complete lineup of activities and entertainment.

Festival times are Friday 6 pm to midnight; Saturday 11 am to 11 pm; Sunday 11 am to 6 pm.  Admission is $7 for adults on Friday and Sunday and $10 on Saturday.  Kid tickets (ages 6-12) will be $5 per day.  Kids 5 and under are free.  Two-day passes are $12 and three-day passes are $20.  The Creole Brunch will be held on Sunday from 10 am to noon.  Ticket prices for the brunch are $55 per seat or $450 for a table of eight.

Night in Old Fredericksburg - July 19-20

The 49th annual Night In Old Fredericksburg will be held on July 19-20 at Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg.   

The festival will open its gates at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21.  The festival will close at midnight on both nights.  An admission fee of $6 per adult and $1 per under 12 years old will be charged each day.

In keeping with the festival’s German cultural roots, live entertainment will be offered both days featuring German, Texan and Country music.  Visit www.NightInOldFredericksburg.com for updates on activities and entertainment.  The festival will also have a wide assortment of delicious food and great arts and craft vendors.

Wings over the Hills Nature Festival - April 29 to May 1

Join fellow birders and nature enthusiasts for the Wings Over the Hills Nature Festival, kicking off this Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 (with level of activity on Sunday dependent on demand). Bring the whole family for the educational and entertainment activities that will focus on the unique wildlife features of the Texas Hill Country – the birds, butterflies, bats, and dragonflies. It’s a celebration of flight! Planned events will be held at several locations around Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country. Renewable Energy Round-Up and Green Living Fair - 9/24-25

The Renewable Energy Round-Up and Green Living fair returns to Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg this weekend. Lectures, exhibits, demonstrations, family activities, music and environmental film festival are features at the biggest sustainability event in the South. Hours are noon to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Gate fees are $10 on Friday and Sunday, $12 on Saturday. A $20 three-day pass is also available. Tickets at the front gate only.

Hill Country Wine and Music Fest - 5/15

The Hill Country Wine and Music Festival, pairing great Texas wine and food with music, premieres this Saturday, May 15 at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds in Fredericksburg. Enjoy a day of tasting wines from Texas wineries and listening to live music. Area restaurants will be on hand to share samples and to offer free cooking demonstrations. A portion of the proceeds from this event, sponsored by Torre di Pietra Vineyards and with assistance from the Texas Department of Agriculture GO TEXAN program, will go to the proposed Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts in Fredericksburg and to area school art enhancement programs. Der Chili Cookoff - 3/5

The Hill Country Home Builders Association proudly presents "DER CHILI COOKOFF" March 5 on Marktplatz from 4-10 pm. There will be food, fun, friendship, dancing, silent auction items, raffles, and festivities to be experienced by all. The Cooks' meeting begins at 10:00am and the Celebrity Judging will begin at 3:45pm. The People's Choice contest will begin when the doors open to the public at 4:00. The Award Ceremony is scheduled for 7:00, and a live band, "The Flying GT's", will play from 7:00 - 10:00! Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to Marktplatz (CASH ONLY) for $10 Adults or $5 for ages 5-12 yrs. (Free for children 4 yrs. and under).

Oktoberfest 2009 - Oct 2-4

Two stages of entertainment including oompah, waltzes, polkas, contests, and dancers; a variety of authentic German food and multiple varieties of cold drinks; 40 artisans; Kinderpark for the kids; souvenirs galore, and much more!

Adults $6, Kids 6-12 $1, under 6 - free. 2-day passes are $10 per person and are available for Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. 3-day passes are $15 per person. Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival - 5/22-24


Nothing says "German community" quite like the annual Crawfish Festival! They'll be serving up red beans and rice, boudin, and gumbo… Other Cajun delicacies are also available for everyone to enjoy. And for those who don't like crawfish, the festival will offer hamburgers, corndogs, German Tacos and plenty of German sausage - what Fredericksburg is known for.


Food and fun for all ages are available. The festival will offer a children's area for kids of all ages and arts and crafts of all kinds will be there for your shopping pleasure. Plus a rock-climbing wall to challenge the young and the old.

Weihnachten in Fredericksburg 2007

Weihnachten in Fredericksburg (Christmas in Fredericksburg) is a family-oriented holiday festival and market, proudly presented by H.E.B.

Weihnachten kicks off with the annual Christmas Parade on Friday, November 30th at 6:30PM, and runs through Sunday, December 2nd.
