Becker Vineyards Lavendar Festival - 4/27-28

Becker Vineyards will host its Annual Lavender Festival this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, at the winery located off Hwy 290 E., just 11 miles from Fredericksburg. Celebrate all things lavender while enjoying music, cooking demonstrations, vendors, and of course, wine! There’s no cost for admission. Parking is $5 per car. Luncheons will also be available at 12:30 p..m. each day and at a cost of $65 plus tax per person – reservations required. Kids Cooking Class at Becker Vineyards - 7/10

Lori's Culinary Company will hold its first summer cooking class for children at Becker Vineyards from 11 am to 1 pm. The focus of this class is to give hands-on lessons, learn seasonal recipes using lavender. Cost is $45 per student. Call (210) 917-1721 for more information.

Texas Hill Country Lavendar Festival - 10/3

Wineries along the 290 Wine Trail share the road with lavender farms stretched from Fredericksburg to Johnson City for the 2nd Annual Texas Hill Country Lavender Festival. This year, six Johnson City – Fredericksburg working lavender farms along Highway 290 will open to the public during one of the most beautiful times of the year. Help the farms celebrate the final harvest of the season as displays of native grasses and lavender in bloom provide a delightful vista. Bring your camera and be ready to cut a fresh bunch of lavender to take home! The weather is usually great (and no one will complain even if it rains!). You will receive a warm welcome at each farm. Farm owners will share lavender farming experiences and plans and will offer products made at their farms. Special events, music, workshops, demonstrations, crafts, food, plants for fall planting, and a variety of lavender and Hill Country products await you. Check individual farm websites for special activities and updates. There is no entrance fee to the farms. New this year is the Friday night Lavender Vintner Dinner at 7 pm. The five course menu by Rails of Kerrville will be paired with Becker Vineyards' wines. Cost is $85 per person, plus tax. NATURE JOURNALING WORKSHOP - VILLA TEXAS LAVENDAR FIELD

JUNE 14: 6PM to 8PM Participate in hands-on workshop for exploring techniques, an evening full of tips and inspiration. Experiment with creative ideas for capturing your adventures --- via sketches, watercolors, or by collaging "treasures" from your wanderings in nature. A selection of watercolor and sketching materials including fine Italian paints and paper, fine art pens, wide array of journals and more will be available at our onsite farm store (or feel free to bring your own art supplies). Fun for all skill levels.

Fredericksburg Lavender Trail: Farm to Table

The Fredericksburg area lavender farms and a dozen restaurants have teamed up to create the “Fredericksburg Lavender Trail: Farm to Table” event. Visitors will be encouraged to visit local lavender farms and then experience lavender-infused menu items at the participating restaurants.

Becker Vineyards Lavender Fest - May 19-20

Becker Vineyards invites you to come out for a lavender filled weekend! There’s no admission charge, and there will be multiple lavender vendors, speeches and demonstrations on the uses of lavender, cooking demos by area restaurants, wine tastings, and much more. There will also be lavender plants for sale, fresh cut lavender, dried lavender and more! Fest hours are Saturday 10AM – 6PM and Sunday 12PM – 6PM.

Lavender Luncheons catered by two local chefs, begin at 12:30 p.m. both days in the Lavender Haus Reception Hall. The 3-course meal features lavender in each course. The luncheon menu and price is still TBA, but reservations are required for the luncheons. Pls. call (830) 644-2681 to make your reservation. Other concessions will also be available.

LLL Farms' Lavender Shop

LLL Farms has a new main location at 3245 Highway 290 East, about three miles east of downtown. The new retail location has everything lavender --- buds and sachets, home and bath products, and many varieties of lavender plants. In addition, they have antiques, used and rare books and local art. They are open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
