May 16-22 is American Craft Beer Week and all this week the Fredericksburg Brewing Company (FBC), the oldest brew pub in Texas and located right here in Fredericksburg at 245 E. Main St., will be celebrating. Join brewers every day this week at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy beers in front of FBC. Throughout the week enjoy featured food specials made with beer, and take a brewery tour at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20. Share your photos on the FBC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/yourbrewery. And, the week wraps with live music all weekend – so stop by and join the fun! Celebrate your love of beer!

Bats of the Hill Country - 5/19

Natural Resource Specialist, Nyta Brown, from Texas Parks & Wildlife will give an introduction to the fascinating world of bats and their importance to the environment. The presentation will be held under the group pavilion at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area at 10 am. Plan to stay for lunch--bring a picnic and enjoy the shade and views.

Craft Beer Week at Fredericksburg Brewing Company

The Brewers Association—the national non-profit association representing the majority of today's U.S. breweries, and publishers of CraftBeer.com— and The Fredericksburg Brewing Company, the oldest brewpub in Texas, will celebrate American Craft Beer Week (ACBW) May 16-22.

Considered The Mother of All Beer Weeks, ACBW recognizes one of America’s true culinary arts and provides a platform for small and independent craft brewers to salute supporters and connect with their local communities. Thousands of today's beer enthusiasts, beginners and hard core geeks will toast craft beer, with ACBW events predicted to take place in all 50 states.

The brewmasters at the Fredericksburg Brewing Company invite you to participate in ACBW with them. Share a beer and visit with the brewers every afternoon of ACBW at 4:30pm on the benches outside the brewery on Main St. Fredericksburg. Friday, May 20th at 10am learn how the brewing process works during a brewery tour and designated meet the brewers hour. All week long featured food specials at the brewery will include items made with the brewery’s craft beer. Also, enjoy live music during the weekend of ACBW and other special events all week long including a photo contest.

Golden Hub Enchilada Dinner - 5/14

The Golden Hub Community Center at 1009 North Lincoln Street will celebrate some "fiesta time" with an enchilada dinner fundraiser Friday at 5:30 pm. Wine and punch will be available at the social. $8 tickets for dinner may be bought at the door. Tickets may also be bought from a board member or at the Hub before May 14th for $7. Food may be taken to go if desired. Dinner ticket holders are eligible to enter a prize drawing at the door. All monies raised from the dinner will benefit the Golden Hub's program and activities.
