Dogvember Fest - 11/1

Throw us a bone! 1st Annual event to be held at the future site of the Fredericksburg Dog Park located in Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park on Highway 16 south. Bring the family and your leashed dogs and enjoy the festivities, donate and tour the land granted by the City of Fredericksburg! Activities include “Yoga with Your Dog” at 9 am, “Get Fit with Fido” at 10:30 am and contests for Best Dog Tricks, Best Dog Costume and Best Dog & Owner Costume – judging begins at 11:10 am. 8:30 to 11:30 am.

All donations will support the construction of the Fredericksburg Dog Park.

Fredericksburg Community Orchestra Hauntcert - 11/1

The orchestra will dress in costume and present a family-friendly program with spooky, fun selections such as Dance Macabre by Saint-Saens and other surprises. The orchestra consists of community members of all ages and musical experience.  The mission of nonprofit Fredericksburg Community Orchestras is to promote string education in Fredericksburg and surrounding communities.  The Halloween Hauntcert will be held at the at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 W. San Antonio.

“Dia de los Muertos” Celebration at Torre di Pietra - 11/1


Celebrate the “Day of the Dead” at Torre di Pietra Winery, 10915 E. US Hwy 290, with live music and a costume contest with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  It will be lots of fun!

Winery hours are 11 am to 6 pm.  Live music from 1 to 5 pm.  Costume judging at 4 pm.  Normal wine tasting fees will apply.

Harper VFD Hunters’ Fish Fry - 11/1

Annual fall fish fry heralds the beginning of hunting season with a fresh catfish meal with all the trimmings and prize raffle.  Great food, good friends and lots of prizes including guns, hunts, UTV and more!  At the Harper Volunteer Fire Department Station, 84 N. Ranch Road 783.

Fun with Fiber at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site - 10/25

Come join the fun with fiber at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm.  See all types of handcrafts and domestic arts used out of fiber.  Period dressed park interpreters will be wearing some of the specialty items made by hand.  Visitors will discover and learn more about fiber while having fun on a farm that dates back to 1915.  All park visitors should stop first at the State Park Visitor Center to obtain a free park permit, map and visitor event information before they travel to the living history farm.

24th Annual Food & Wine Fest - 10/25

A grand celebration of Texas wine and food. 28 Texas wineries and 50 Texas-made specialty participants are anticipated. Texas gourmet chefs demonstrating culinary talents at the Grape Expectations Cooking School (Two Afternoon sessions, I and II), Gargantuan Great Grape Toss, wonderful silent auction, art, lively entertainment.

Admission $20 per person, under 21 $5, gates open noon til 7PM.

Plus three special events: Thursday festivities A "Locavore" event at Messina Hof Hill Country Winery, Friday showcasing a Celebration of Texas Food and Wine and Saturday Patron Brunch on Marktplatz, both offering incredible foods paired with tasty Texas wines; these special events are limited seating, advance ticket sales only.

Luckenbach's Harvest Classic Motorcycle Rally - 10/17-18

European bike rally, live music and fun in the world famous Texas town of Luckenbach, Texas.

Organized by Central Texas Motorcycle Charities, this gathering of Classic and European motorcycles raises money for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer program of Any Baby Can. Native American Artifacts Show - October 18

Fine Native American artifacts from Texas & other parts of the U.S. will be on display during this event at the lady bird Johnson Park's Pioneer Pavillion - including arrowheads, pottery, trade-era beads, and Indian jewelry.

BBQ and beverages will be for sale. Admission is $5 per person, and kids under 14 are free. Hours are from 9 am until 3 pm. The Pioneer Pvaillion is a 432 Lady Bird Drive in Fredericksburg's Lady Bird Johnson Park.

CROP Walk: Hill Country Hike for Hunger - 10/19

A 5K walk around Fredericksburg or a “Golden Mile” for those who cannot walk the 5K. Walkers collect donations to benefit world hunger relief. 75% of proceeds goes to Church World Services or the denomination of your choice and 25% goes to the local Food Pantry. Event begins at Bethany Lutheran Church. 2:30 pm registration.

Monarch Festival celebration - 10/18

Join Wildseed Farms at the Monarch Butterfly Celebration for the tagging of Monarch butterflies. This colorful event is a sight to see as butterflies are tagged then released for their annual migration – at 11:30 a.m. and at 3:30 p.m. Find out more about raising butterflies or creating your own butterfly garden. Texas Mesquite Art Festival - Oct 12-13

Mesquite Art Festival
Over 50 artisans will be on Fredericksburg, Texas' Marktplatz with works in native Texan mesquite wood. Corn Maze,Pumpkin Patch and Fall Market - 10/2-11/20

Pumpkin patch, corn maze, pumpkin painting and pumpkin tic-tac-toe at 502 Jenschke Lane off Hwy 290 East.  On October 11, there will be a team of Welch ponies pulling the hay wagon!   Additional activities include corn shelling and face painting.  The fall market will offer decorative pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, local fruits and vegetables, homemade jellies and jams, cracked and shelled pecans, homemade treats and cold drinks.

Stonewall VFD Fish Fry - 10/11

Enjoy the food and support the Stonewall VFD all in one location, 205 Peach Street in Stonewall. Call (830) 997-2735 for more information. Stonewall comes together as a community every year to show the local volunteer fire department how much they are appreciated. This fish fry benefits the department and helps them be able to purchase needed equipment. Cost is by donation. Tell a firefighter "Thank You!".
